Washington Surveying and Rating Bureau 

The Washington Survey and Rating Bureau (WSRB) rates fire departments in the State of Washington and assigns a Protection Class for properties located within the Fire Department boundaries. The score ranges from 1 (high amount of fire protection) to 10 (no fire protection). Fire departments are generally assessed once every five years. The rating scores are a major component in assessing insurance risk for property insurance.

 

On January 1, 2026 the WSRB issued Skagit Fire District 5 rating of 6.34. The rounding policy of the WSRB equates this to a score of 7 for Skagit Fire District 5.
